New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way Central senior three star ranked defensive end prospect Evan Panfil (6-foot-5, 230 pounds) has been looking harder at his college options this winter. Panfil talks about his recent unofficial visits, his latest set official visit plans and much more in this update.

"We wound up with a 4-5 record and ended the season on a positive note," Panfil said. "We just couldn't get over the hump in some close game s and that was really the difference. We ended up playing a really tough schedule and overall I felt that I was able to have a pretty good senior year."

Panfil has also been spending more and more time at Illinois since the season ended.

"Illinois has really picked things up with me and I get a feeling they are pretty close to offering me. I've been down to Illinois twice since the season ended for games and I've been really talking with the coaches more and more. I'm really starting to get to know Coach (Keith) Gilmore better and we talk about once a week. I've also been able to get to know the coaches and the player at Illinois better and they want me to stay patient with them."

Panfil has also set up his first official visit.

"I'm taking an official visit to Colorado State. I'm going to be visiting them on November 30th and I'm pretty excited to see what they have to offer. I have been staying in touch with the coaches at Colorado State for awhile now and I'm excited to get out and see what they have to offer."

Panfil is also considering taking more official visits before making his college choice.

"New Mexico has jumped into things and they also have been talking about me coming out for an official visit. I also have been staying in touch with schools like Western Michigan, Bowling Green and Ball State and I might still go visit a few of those schools as well."

Evan Panfil has scholarship offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Colgate Colorado State, Illinois State, Miami of Ohio, New Mexico, North Dakota, Toledo, Western Michigan and Wyoming.
