Baton Rouge NIKE Camp report
Hundreds of high school athletes were on-hand at the LSU football complex on Sunday for the Nike combine. Some of the top prospects on-hand were dismayed by their 40 and shuttle times due to the brand new field turf in the LSU indoor practice facility that had many slipping and sliding.
Some athletes brought the wrong footwear, while others had no answers for the new turf which is known to take a year or longer to get broken in properly.
John Curtis running back Joe McKnight was not too pleased with his times, which he said, was in the 4.6 range and LSU tight end commitment Mitch Joseph of New Iberia-Catholic was in the same boat.
