DT Clark planning on visits this summer
Scholarship offers continue to come in for Rialto (Calif.) Wilmer Carter defensive tackle Kenneth Clark this spring.
The last few days have brought new offers from Wyoming and San Diego State bringing his total to 13. While Clark is enjoying the attention from new schools he is remaining in close contact with a select few and concentrating on improving his abilities going into his final season of high school football.
"Things are going good, I just got offers from San Diego State and Wyoming," Clark said. "I've been talking to the coaches from Nebraska, Washington, USC and UCLA the most."
It's no surprise that the schools Clark has been talking to the most are the schools on the top of his list.
"Nebraska, Washington, USC and UCLA are at the top for me at the moment."
The athletic 6-foot-2, 275-pound Clark said that most of his top schools have talked to him about where they see him fitting in on their respective defensive lines on the next level. Clark also said that he is motivated to improve on his overall skills this summer to help make the transition to playing college football easier for him when the time comes.
"Most schools like Nebraska have told me that they would like to see me play the zero and one technique. Washington would like to put me at the zero, one and sometimes put me out at the five to play an end technique.
"I've really been trying to improve my footwork and, I have big hands, but I'm trying to use them better. Whatever I can do to help me dominate on the next level is what I'm working on but mainly just my footwork, getting my pass rush game right and just my technique."
In addition to improving his game, Clark will be making time for the USC camp and some unofficial visits this summer.
"USC hasn't offered me yet but I'm going to their camp," Clark said. "I'm also supposed to be going on visits to Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, Miami, and that's about it.
"Nebraska told me about their junior day and sent me a flyer about it. So I'm trying to go up there on June 16th to check them out."
Clark said that while he is planning on taking some trips this summer he still wants to wait until after his official visits this fall to make a decision. He also added that he is on track to be a full qualifier in the classroom.
