Tyler Defensive Back Verbals Cowboys
The University of Wyoming football program received it's first commitment for the class of 2011 when Chad Reese, a 5-foot-11 and 175 defensive back verbal the Cowboys on Monday.
Reese is one of three defensive backs from Tyler Lee high school with division one ability, including Cortland Browning who committed to Missouri and Marvin Gray another prospect drawing interest.
"The competion will continue playing in the Mountain West against the likes of TCU and Utah," said Reese. "I've been lucky to play in a strong high school league and that will continue in college."
The Cowboys have evaluated and recruited Reese for several months and worked him into Monday's verbal, as he plans making an official visit to Laramie in the near future.
"The staff at Wyoming brings a lot of hope and energy," said Reese. "I feel comfortable with my decision to continue playing football for their program."
Reese fits into UW head coach Dave Christensen philosophy of improving speed in the Wyoming program, as the Tyler Lee product runs better than a 4.5 forty yard dash and shows playmaking skills registering 100 tackles and 8 tackles-for-loss.
The Tyler, Texas native also blocked a kick, recovered a fumble, and picked up an interception during his 2009 junior campaign.
"The strength of the team is going to be possibily our secondary because of the returning experience," said Reese. "The good part is we're all already committed to play college next season and focus on the season this fall."
