Wyoming Verbals Two More Prospects

The University of Wyoming football program picked up two promising linebacker recruits when Zack Berg, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker from Washington state and Alex Borgs, a 6-foot-1 and 203 prospect from Dusseldorf, Germany verballed the program last week.

Berg has the potential to play either linebacker or safety in college, though he currently is listed as a linebacker recruit for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are focusing on speed and athleticism with their recruits and both Berg and Borgs fits the definition.

Berg also plays running back for Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington, while rushing for 1,302 yards and 21 touchdowns.

He registered 48 tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries playing safety with his better than 4.6 forty-yard dash speed.

Borgs is the second Germany product to verbal the Cowboys 2011 class after safety Mark Nzeocha committed last month. Both players will join current Cowboy linebacker Oliver Schober, who is also from their home country.

Borgs looks to enroll at mid-semester and have four years of eligibility at UW.

The Cowboys now have nine commitments leading into 2011 signing day.
