Sooners Giving the Steal Sign to Havili

Though he has numbers at defensive tackle, thanks in part to several players sliding into the position, there is no doubt that one of Jerry Montgomery's key focus in recruiting has been adding some quality talent to his collection of defensive tackles. His connections and knowledge of Polynesian talent was also expected to be a major boost for the Sooners.

With one offer he brought both issues together.

That's because Montgomery, while recently working at the All-Poly camp in Utah, had a chance to work with Tooele (Utah) Stansbury three-star defensive tackle Allan Havili and the 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect made quite an impression.

"It was just a couple of weeks ago (when Oklahoma offered) after the All-poly camp at OU. He was the defensive line coach when I went up to the all-poly, he knew who I was and he offered me a couple of days later," Havili said.

" It was me and a couple of other guys that were like his main guys and then after that I started following him on Twitter and have stayed in touch with him on there."
