Five-Star DB gives UGA high marks

Five-star Rivals100 defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick traveled over to Athens from his Gadsen (Ala.) home to visit the University of Georgia for the first time. The number 13 ranked player in the country had a chance to see some of what the Dawgs had to offer and he spoke highly of UGA.

"It was my first time ever going to Georgia and I really liked it," said Kirkpatrick. "I liked the environment there, I liked how everything was close together, and I liked the people there."

"I just had this funny feeling there when I got out of the car. I pulled up and saw the baseball field, the basketball gym, and it made me excited. I got out of the car and even though it was wet and raining, the people were still excited, and I had a great vibe about Georgia."

The University of Georgia has kind of snuck into the picture for this 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back for Alabama. The visit he took to Athens on G-Day was not something he had thought about for too long and that is kind of how the offer came from the Dawgs.

"I was getting a few letters from Georgia, but nothing personal or hand written until one day the offer just came," explained Kirkpatrick.
