A trio of Richmond area seniors have recently made their college commitments and each has found a future home at one of the state's DI-AA programs.

In late October, Kire Worley, a quarterback / defensive back who transferred from Louisa County to Hermitage prior to his senior season, made his decision by committing to the University of Richmond. Worley has helped the Panthers advance to the regional title contest after leading the Lions to the Region II championship game last season where they fell to Broad Run in a 39-21 contest.

A 6-foot-1, 188-pound athlete, Worley threw for 985 yards and rushed for 687 last season for Louisa accounting for 12 touchdowns. Along with his on-the-field excellence, Worley performed well on the combine circuit over the summer running a 4.67 forty, 4.21 shuttle, 9'3" broad jump and 34-inch vertical while repping 185 pounds nineteen times on the bench press.

From Petersburg High School, offensive lineman Darcell Whitaker has found his college home as the Wave's big man opted to commit to Hampton University at a school pep rally in late October.

A 6-foot-5, 286-pounder with road-grading abilities, Whitaker saw a lot of college attention this past year earning looks from schools from across the nation at the DI and DI-AA level before opting for the Pirates. Like Worley, he garnered attention on the combine circuit collecting the MVP award for Offensive Lineman at the NUC event in Richmond in April.

Playing in the Division Five regional championship game this week will be Hanover Hawks defensive back Xavier Crocker, a 5-foot-11, 186-pounder who ranks as a team leader for the Hawks as he's been a four-year starter for Coach Josh Just.

The Central Region standout committed to James Madison University. Along with his abilities on the field, Crocker has stood out as a student as well currently carrying a 3.36 grade point average in the classroom.
