Five-star quarterback visits FSU

video Tim Tebow scouting video

If you think Tim Tebow's isn't interested in Florida State, think again. The five-star quarterback from Nease High School in St. Augustine spent Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee checking out the FSU campus. The southpaw signal caller also watched film with the Seminole coaching staff and talked shop.

"It was a good trip," said Tebow. "I was hanging out with the coaches and trying to get a feel...a good relationship, trying to get to know them better."

The 'Noles could really use a quarterback in this recruiting class, and there's none better than Tebow. This wasn't his first trip to FSU, but by the sounds of things, it was his best.

"I really like Coach Dickey," said Tebow. "He's a good coach and has a good resume. He has a good record for coaching quarterbacks and he's a good person off the field."

The state's top rated QB talked about the difference between the Nease offense and the Seminole offense, noting that the 'Noles use a lot of two back sets where the tailback is used in the passing game unlike his high school. That right there is good news for Seminole fans who have been looking for FSU to use the backs more in the passing game for sometime now.

Tebow is keeping a close eye on the quarterback situation at FSU, both on and off the field. He is looking closely at the depth chart, but he's doing that with every school.

"We know about the quarterback situation," said Tebow. "We won't be naive going into this."

Tebow won't return to Tallahassee until football season. He's about to embark on a missionary trip and when he returns, it's off to the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp. He hasn't committed to an official visit yet, saying he'll decide on his five visits once the season gets underway.

Other schools thought to be high on his list include Michigan, USC, Florida, and Alabama.
