Unmatched Army AA coverage set to kick off
MORE: Army All-American Bowl rosters | Army AA Bowl coverage | More all-star coverage
SAN ANTONIO - Last season Rivals.com covered the U.S. Army All-American Bowl like it had never been covered before.
Live locker room chats before the game.
In-depth analysis from multiple recruiting analysts.
Breaking recruiting news.
Live player chats.
This year you can expect that - and even more - from Rivals.com as its team of around 20 reporters and analysts begin live coverage from San Antonio on Saturday, continuing all week until kickoff at noon Central on Saturday, Jan. 3, and well into the following week.
The game features many of the nation's best prospects, including the No. 1 player Bastrop, La., five-star receiver Rueben Randle. He's also joined by four other players ranked in the top 10 nationally, including No. 2-ranked Bryce Brown of Wichita East and No. 4-ranked Sheldon Richardson of St. Louis Gateway. Overall, 63 players on the roster rank in the top 10 at their position, including 10 players ranked No. 1 overall at their positions.
It's the deepest and most talented roster every to don the Black and Gold and White and Black jerseys. And that's saying a lot because the game has featured some amazing talent including stars like Tim Tebow, Terrelle Pryor, Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, Ted Ginn, Andre Smith, Brady Quinn, Noel Devine and countless others.
PLAYERS ARRIVE SUNDAY
Coverage kicks off Saturday, but really gears up with the players arrivals on Sunday. Rivals.com will be there exclusively to talk with the players as they land in San Antonio with a live message board blog with notes, news, recruiting tidbits and other key information. There will also be plenty of recruiting updates, photos and analyst Barry Every will share with us his All-Lobby Team.
Practices kick off Monday and Rivals.com will have live on-field updates throughout the day, along with exclusive player chats in the afternoon. Analyst Mike Farrell will also provide in-depth analysis with Farrell's Five Thoughts about the day's practices.
There will be more of the same on Tuesday, but Wednesday is when the teams head to the Alamodome for a live scrimmage and Rivals.com will be there providing unrivaled coverage of the entire day's worth of events.
Wednesday starts off at 8 a.m. from the Alamodome with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Skills Challenge. That has always turned into one of the week's most exciting events as players do their best to outclass their peers with challenges of speed, agility and strength. Then at 1:45 p.m. is when the intra-squad scrimmages start, and you can expect live updates direct from the field and then a full recap of who looked good and who didn't.
Thursday is when the top junior prospects in the nation begin to arrive in San Antonio and register for the U.S. Army Combine. Rivals.com will have reporters at the Marriott Rivercenter interviewing the top juniors and passing along any breaking recruiting news. Along with the exclusive announcements of the starting lineups on Rivals.com, practices will also be going on all day and you can expect full coverage from that also.
Friday's focus is on the class of 2010, as the U.S. Army Combine starts at 8 a.m. and continues all the way until 6 p.m. Rivals.com and Sportslink team up to provide a live webcast through new technology from NewTek that will bring fans right onto the field there at the Alamodome. You will be able to get a look for yourself at how the top performers do, plus get analysis from Rivals.com experts as the day unfolds. If you miss that, don't worry Rivals.com has you covered with plenty of analysis, features, photos and notes from the day.
Along with that, Friday is when Farrell breaks down who's been the best of the best so far throughout the week and analyst Barton Simmons takes an in-depth look at the top position battles in Saturday's game.
Saturday is game day, and Rivals.com will be live on the field and in the locker rooms at the Alamodome. Rivals.com reporters will be hosting live chats from inside the locker rooms, and then Every, Farrell, Simmons and national editor Jeremy Crabtree will be providing their thoughts from the field during the game with a live message board blog.
Following the game, Rivals.com will then breakdown the top 10 players from both rosters and name its Army Combine MVP and All-Combine Team.
